Whether it’s the big toe or little one

The pain is the same

Middle of the night woe, it may be done

Or in broad daylight, poor aim!

Hopping on one foot

Seems the automatic result.

Thinking next time to wear a boot,

Laying blame, naming who may be at fault.

I submit, it is an honor to stub one’s toe;

It’s a reminder how small events

Affect our physical and spiritual flow.

Our reaction, trying to make sense -

Why God almighty allows such owies,

Pet peeves, and other inconsequentials -

Is to look forward to the heavenlies,

Knowing eternity will not include such potentials.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
