Adopt the defensive stance
In readiness for attack
Knowing in advance
God’s armor has your back.
Envision the helmet
Where prayers emanate
The Kevlar vest, how it is set
Holding your heart, true and straight.
Take comfort in the holster belt
Wrapped around your waist
Girding your gut instinct as you are dealt
Satan’s temptations to choose unwise haste.
And don’t underestimate that expandible baton
That can go beyond your normal reach
Sweeping away danger, dispelling the hoax, the con
All avenues are covered, as the Apostle Paul would teach.
For the power of the Holy Spirit is unleashed
Upon reading and hearing of the Word
So gird yourself, as you are now beseeched
For Jesus has established the final sword.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10 & 11
