A Stone's Throw Away

Smooth, flat, a good skipping stone

One way to judge its essence.

Flinty, sparkly, geological zone;

Another way to sort its presence.

All kids seem to pick them up

Save them in their pockets.

Useful in the bottom of a flower cup

Yet spiritually symbolic.

How appropriate to be called

Living Stones, ubiquitary.

Rejected by mankind, culled

Discarded for inferiority.

Christ is the cornerstone

Invisible to unbelievers

But it leads to God's Throne

A stone's throw away to receivers.

"You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 2:5
