Herod, demented and disturbed
Was excited to interview Jesus
Sent by Pilate, who was also quite perturbed.
Both thinking how much Jesus ‘needs us”.
Ever wonder why “he answered not a word”
When Jesus could have spoken in his defense?
Herod questioned him about all he had heard
Hoping to soothe his own conscience.
We ponder that non-response.
But is it so hard to fathom?
Christ won’t answer “wants”.
His relationship with non-believers is a chasm!
So when prayers seem to fall on deaf ears
And you get no satisfaction,
Check to see if you mirror those king’s errors!
Give God, His Son and Holy Spirit all glorification!
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. 9Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing. Luke 23:8 &9
